Here are three miniatures and episodes in the legend of George and the Dragon. They play out in the dense foliage of a fantasy realm of which the dragon is an intrinsic but arguably malign part. However, how much George and Princess Sabra are in harmony with this lost paradise is left open to the viewer.
The borders have some resemblance to French and Flemish miniatures of the early 15th century, but as always, these works are of Sue Symonds's own inspiration.
